Impact & Disclosure

Capital that puts down roots.

We believe that sustainable businesses create sustainable communities. By investing in enterprises that strengthen Africa's productive sectors, Oxano Capital helps build resilient economies where commercial success and positive social and environmental impact reinforce one another.

The name Oxano comes from the Greek word "auxanō" (αὐξάνω). This means "cause growth." This is exactly what we aim for with Oxano Capital.

On the ground

Built alongside the entrepreneurs we back

Our investment strategy is designed to promote sustainable outcomes and aligns with the requirements of Article 9 of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) (EU) 2019/2088, which applies to financial products with sustainable investment as their objective.

In accordance with SFDR Article 9, Oxano Capital seeks to invest in companies and projects that contribute to measurable environmental and/or social objectives while ensuring that investments do not significantly harm any other sustainability objectives and that investee companies follow good governance practices.

We maintain robust due diligence, sustainability assessment, and ongoing monitoring processes to evaluate alignment with our sustainability objectives and to support transparent reporting to our stakeholders.
Further information regarding our sustainability methodology, principal adverse impact considerations, and periodic disclosures is available upon request or in the relevant fund documentation.

Theory of Change

How change takes root

Long-term prosperity begins with locally rooted businesses. We combine patient capital with hands-on partnership so impact grows from the ground up.

Every investment starts with capital and partnership planted directly into a business and its community. From there, growth branches outward — into stronger enterprises, empowered people, and a more resilient environment.

Roots Patient capital, strategic expertise, and active partnership with entrepreneurs.
Growth High-potential enterprises scale sustainably in agriculture, agri-processing, agri-tech and manufacturing.
Canopy Resilient businesses, empowered communities, and inclusive economic growth across Africa.

Regulatory disclosure

SFDR disclosure

Our investment strategy is designed to promote sustainable outcomes and aligns with the requirements of Article 9 of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation. Below is a summary of how this applies to Oxano Capital in practice.

Article 9 applies to financial products that have sustainable investment as their explicit objective — not simply as a consideration alongside financial return. It sets a higher bar than products that only promote environmental or social characteristics.

This page provides a summary for information purposes. It does not constitute investment advice. For full pre-contractual and periodic disclosures, please refer to the relevant fund documentation or contact us directly.
