Growth capital is a type of private equity investment, typically a minority stake, aimed at mature, profitable companies looking to scale operations, enter new markets, or finance acquisitions . It bridges the gap between venture capital and traditional buyouts, providing funds for expansion without requiring a change of control.

In Africa, the need for growth capital is acute. Many businesses in agriculture, manufacturing, and tech have innovative solutions but face barriers to scaling due to limited access to long-term, patient capital. Without it, they risk stagnation even when demand and potential are high. Growth capital helps bridge this gap, enabling enterprises to professionalize, invest in technology, expand production, and reach new markets all while strengthening local value chains and economic resilience.

At Oxano Capital, we believe growth capital is the fuel that allows promising businesses to scale, create jobs, and strengthen local economies. Unlike early-stage financing, growth capital is designed to support companies that have proven their model, generated traction, and are ready to expand operations, enter new markets, or invest in infrastructure.

If you are building a business that is ready to grow and deliver lasting impact, let’s connect.
