Africa's Youth Potential

Written by Nardos Berehe | Jul 30, 2024 10:00:00 PM

According to UN estimates, by 2050, the global population will hit 10 million, with 95% of the growth occurring in low- and middle-income nations. Africa is expected to contribute a staggering 57% (or 1.4 billion people) to this population rise, making it stand out among other regions of expansion. Given that 70% of people in sub-Saharan Africa are under 30, the continent has the youngest population in the world, with youthful energy and untapped potential.4

By 2075, one out of every three people of working age will be African. Africa is the only continent where the working-age population is expected to grow by 450 million by 2035, making it the only region where the workforce will continue to grow over the next few decades. This growing human potential offers Africa an exceptional opportunity to boost economic growth and create more wealth for billions of people throughout the continent, provided that the region places a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality education along with relevant skills.

This demographic shift presents an unprecedented opportunity for Africa to harness its young, energetic workforce and drive an economic revolution. We can sustainably drive Africa's economy and unleash vast opportunities for innovation and development by effectively utilizing this youthful energy. Oxano Capital is excited about the opportunities this presents for impactful investments in youth-driven initiatives. 𝙅𝙤𝙞𝙣 𝙪𝙨 in unlocking the potential of Africa's youth!
